About Us
Hello and a massive, warm welcome to our Nursery class page. My name is Mrs Matthewson and I will be your child’s teacher for their time in Nursery.
The Nursery class team is made up of myself and three Learning Support Officers, Mrs Edgeworth, Mrs Rose and Mrs Thomas.
Our Learning Environment
Our main aim in Nursery is that your children are happy, engaged and develop a love and curiosity for learning. We love to set up fun and engaging play opportunities for our children both inside and outdoors. We form close bonds with all of our children and like them to feel safe and loved during their time with us.
Our learning environment consists of our classroom, the quiet room where we go for our song and input, our street zone, our outdoor play area and the field and enchanted woodland.
We are very lucky in our school to have an enclosed Nursery outside play area, our own woodland and gardens and access to the larger Pen-Y-Fai woods. Our weekly trips to explore the woods are always a firm favourite with the children.
Class Dojo
In Nursery we use Class Dojo as a way of sharing news and photos of our time in school each week and communicating any relevant updates.
Important things to remember in Nursery

PE day- please wear PE kit to school
Friday
Library -We provide each child with a reading book bag in September for them to bring to school every Friday to change their library book. The children love choosing a story to share with family at home each week.
